My second project for my summer watercolor class. The assignment was to choose 3-4 colors and create an abstract painting using glazing and some of the methods learned in class. I used tipping, splattering, tape masking, and liquid masking. This is not my usual style, but I do enjoy the way the tree turned out and the colors that I chose.
I like it. I love masking, traditionally with tape. You can mask with photoshop, but it doesn't have the same feel. It's like opening a christmas present when you peel back the tape.
I have been playing with watercolor for only a short period of time now and came across your painiting. I just wanted to thank you for inspiring me to paint a similar one. it really is beautiful!
I'm currently working as a graphic designer in Portage/Kalamazoo, MI. I'm about to finish up my Illustration degree in April 2009. In addition to these two Associate degrees, I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Science and Chemistry.
Always looking for new connections, and I'm looking forward to doing more freelance graphic design and illustration work in the future! :)
