the assignment: create a spot illustration of an Asian teenage girl, holding a cell phone, the girl is angry, and she is wearing a necklace with a locket.
Here is my critique to help you out before you turn it in:
1. The hair and colors are great. 2. The lines on the face need to be darker, I can't see her nose at all. 3. The arm at her side looks really short. And it's at an awkward angle. Try putting it behind her. 4. Get rid of the pink thing on the side. The point of a spot illustration is that it can be in the middle of the page. With the pink thing it forces the designer to put it on the left hand side.
You also might want to check out some reference of a girl standing. Then adjust your drawing to what the photo reference shows you.
I'm currently working as a graphic designer in Portage/Kalamazoo, MI. I'm about to finish up my Illustration degree in April 2009. In addition to these two Associate degrees, I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Science and Chemistry.
Always looking for new connections, and I'm looking forward to doing more freelance graphic design and illustration work in the future! :)

Except for the eyes...it reminds me of someone.
